About the Opportunity:
An opportunity is now open for the role of Library Operations Officer within the Library & Family Services team. This Level 4, full-time, limited tenure position is being offered to cover a period of maternity leave for approximately 13 months.
The Library Operations Officer has a critical role, ensuring our four library branches (Casuarina, Darwin City, Karama and Nightcliff) are effectively staffed and operational each day. You'll work closely with team leaders and casual staff, coordinating rosters, supporting daily logistics and contributing to the smooth delivery of library services.
What do we ask you to do?
- Prepare and manage weekly and quarterly rosters for approximately 40 staff across four library branches
- Coordinate casual staff rosters and provide training and support to casual staff
- Collaborate with team leaders to ensure coverage for leave, training and operational needs
- Support staff through onboarding, induction, and training coordination
- Assist with operational logistics including property, cleaning, security, and vehicle coordination
- Respond to challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture, aligned with our CARES values
- Be flexible in working across locations and rosters, including weekends
What do we need you to have?
- Certificate IV in Library & Information Services / Business Administration / Community Services / Customer Engagement or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years in a customer service environment
- Current NT Working with Children clearance (Ochre Card)
- Possession of a Class C Driver's Licence
Desirable
- Minimum of one years' experience in a supervisory role
